Meet Me in the Market

COMING SOON

Cheyenne Roberts has a system: grocery delivery, a full Netflix queue, and a promise to herself that she doesn't need anything she doesn't already have. Then her best friend hijacks her phone, builds her a dating profile, and Chy finds herself asking a stranger his favourite ice cream flavour. He says vanilla. She almost swipes left.

Liam is a chef about to open a restaurant on Ottawa's Sparks Street, warm, disarming, and far too interested in a woman who hasn't picked up a paintbrush in nine years. They agree to be friends. It's easier that way. He doesn't want kids. She comes with two. But between the art he commissions before he's seen a single piece and the city he keeps showing her one street at a time, Chy starts wanting things she stopped letting herself want.

Meet Me in the Market is a slow burn love story about the life you put on hold, and the person who makes you want to start again, set against the seasons of Ottawa's Byward Market.

LATEST RELEASE

Return

Return is a luminous collection of poems about coming home to yourself, to your truth, your softness, and your strength. In her signature voice, introspective, lyrical, and quietly powerful, Sharla Fanous explores what it means to carry the lessons of stillness, growth, and clarity into the next season of life. For anyone navigating change, healing, or self-discovery, Return offers companionship and encouragement. Each poem is an invitation to pause, reflect, and find beauty in the unfolding: a reminder that coming home to yourself is not a single moment, but a lifelong practice of grace, courage, and return.

Burn

(2026) Burn is a collection of poems forged in fire—raw, unflinching, and necessary. These pieces speak to the moments when silence is no longer an option, when the weight of toxic relationships and suffocating environments must be set ablaze. At its heart, Burn is about catharsis: screaming out what has been buried, facing the truths that brought you to the edge, and finding release in the ashes.

For anyone who has ever felt consumed by pain yet desperate to rise from it, these poems offer both recognition and release—a reminder that destruction can be the first spark of renewal.

Bloom

(2026) Bloom is a book of soft beginnings. It is a celebration of the courage it takes to open your heart—to risk, to love, to create, to be fully present in the moment. These poems were born from seasons of reawakening: the spark of creativity, the sweetness of friendship, the tenderness of motherhood, and the light of new love.

Cocoon

(2025) Cocoon is a poetry collection about stillness, slowing down, and finding rest. It is for the introverts and homebodies—for anyone who longs for peace amidst the flurry of everyday life. Written during quiet moments of reflection, these poems invite readers into a gentle rhythm of solitude and renewal.

Unbroken Pieces

(2022) A compilation of poems on love, loss, faith and hope.

I started writing poetry at fifteen, as a way to process feelings I didn't have words for.

Around twenty-six, I stopped. I'm still not sure why. Life got full, and somewhere along the way, I forgot this had ever been mine.

Six years ago, I picked it back up. Wait... I used to do this a lot, I remember thinking. And just like that, it became an outlet again. A place for my inside to go. A place to unmask and simply be me.

Unbroken Pieces gathers that journey, from my earliest writing to midlife. It's where the woman finally met the girl... and thanked her for giving her a voice.
