AUTHOR & POET

Hello, I’m Sharla.

Believer in banter, coffee refills, and the power of a second chance.

THE LONG VERSION

I write the kind of love that arrives slowly and then all at once.

I have always been the quiet girl carrying an entire world behind her eyes. I didn't find my voice so much as I found a pen. Slowly, that world is making its way onto paper, and I get to share it here with you.

I grew up in a town about 30 miles north of Boston, four proper seasons and a library card I wore out early. These days, I call Ottawa, Ontario home. It's no accident that my characters wander the same places I do most weekends. I write the places I know, and the people who feel like home in them.

You can read it first in my poetry. Soon, in the novels I publish, you'll find endearing friendships, delightful banter, laugh-out-loud moments, and love that stays with you.

ON MY NIGHTSTAND

The things that shaped the writing

Rainy-window mornings, coffee gone cold, playlists that are 90% yearning, and every dog-eared paperback that taught me a quiet love could be the loudest thing in the room.

A minimalist illustration of a large peach-colored heart with a smaller heart cutout at the top, set against a black background.
