The Sound of Rain

Like an unceasing “Shh”

As if the heavens are coaxing the earth into silence.

Or a “tap-tap-tap” against the window

Begging you to share your thoughts

At times, a kind of “plip-plop” slow drip

Tip-toeing on your nose

Or making no sound at all

Placidly misting the air
