The Unexpected Journey

I wandered ignorantly,

And ignorant of my ignorance.

Blindly led by the blind,

Unaware in my mind

The last thing I expected to find.

A world concealed,

And when revealed,

Unveiled a reality

I could not see,

Shattering my glass menagerie.

I stared at the broken pieces,

Feeling as freedom releases;

Gripped by relief,

And yet the grief

Of unbelief,

Confusion and sorrow also increases.

All that was secure,

And everything I was sure

Fractured on the floor

Splintering my feet.

Still, finding a way forward,

I move toward

The road now blurred

In front of me.
