The One

I'm looking for "the One",

The "more than I could imagine",

Who is both steady as a rock

And overflowing with passion.

I'll know when it's real.

True love can't be concealed.

He'll declare his love loudly and bold.

Whisper softly, "I'll never let go."

And gently hum a sweet song,

That only the two of us know.

But words would never suffice

For words are often meant to entice.

I'm seeking safety in a smile,

A charm that is unbeguiled,

A wide and secure embrace,

Where my inner child can run wild

To prove certain his desire

Still a few more things I require:

He will be that place for me.

Patiently hold space for me.

And when my feet start to run,

Let his own give chase for me.

Then there would be no doubt

That I'd found the one I can't be without.
