Thank You

Thank you for bear hugs from tiny arms,

Milk mustaches, and “I love you, Mom”s.

Thank you for messy rooms, unmade beds,

Infectious giggles, and unkempt heads.

Thank you for post-bath, water-soaked floors,

Toothpaste-smeared sinks, and fingerprinted doors.

Thank you for mornings of early cries, milk spilled,

Sibling fights and tempers strong-willed.

Thank You for the stained carpet, the scribbled wall,

The broken lamp, yes, thank You for it all.

Lord, thank You for my children, all three,

For in loving them, I see Your love for me.

You love me at my best, you love me at my worst,

You love me when I forget to put You first.

So thank you for these little reminders three,

Because of them I see Your love for me.
